Former world junior lightweight champion Harold Gomes is wishing Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao ?the best of luck in his title quest? on May 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas when he takes on World Boxing Association/International Boxing Federation champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
In an email to Manila Standard Gomes said ?there is no greater feeling in the world? than fighting for a world championship and representing your country .
Gomes reminded Pacquiao that ?win or lose, your people will be proud of you.? He also expressed regret that their schedules did not allow them to meet but Gomes added, ?we will someday.? Gomes recently visited Manila some 44 years after losing his world crown to Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde at the inauguration of the Araneta Coliseum on March 16, 1960 to pay tribute to the man who beat him.
