Despite the many diffident commentaries coming from self-styled boxing analysts about how Manny Pacquiao would fare against Juan Manuel Marquez this coming May 8, I can foresee nothing but a resounding victory for Manny. Call it gut feeling, nationalistic proclivity, or plain fanaticism, I still can’t see how Marquez would beat Manny in this one.
BARRING accidents or deliberate trickery, (mobs are not above that, you know) my instincts tell me that Manny would reach the apex of his career this year–be it anybody in the featherweight division barring the way. It just happens that it is Marquez that is there at the moment. My conviction springs from my belief that certain characters would dominate their respective fields of endeavor at a certain era.
