That seems to be the battle cry of steel-fisted Juan Manuel Marquez heading into his May 8 showdown with Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the Mexican?s World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation featherweight titles.
“Combatire su veneno con veneno (poison versus poison),” the tough-talking champion said when asked how he plans to deal with the Filipino boxing icon who, just last November, had destroyed Mexico?s biggest boxing hero ? Marco Antonio Barrera.
Marquez, who at 30 is five years older than his challenger, is hardly awed by Pacquiao?s celebrated skills and said he has no plans of merely matching the Filipino?s power and speed.
“(I?ll) show more power and speed,” said the brash Mexican.
