Blood is thicker than water.
Even after being ousted from his nephew’s team in a very public fashion, Evangelista Cotto shows that blood is runs thick and picked Miguel Cotto to take out Manny Pacquiao within 8 rounds this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Miguel, he should win before the 8th round,” Cotto’s uncle told Primera Hora – a Puerto Rican daily. “He is too strong. It will end by the 8th.”
Replaced by former assistant Joe Santiago, Evangelista was asked if he would have liked to serve as the trainer for this fight.
“Definitely,” said the Puerto Rican trainer. “Things happen. God knows why. All I can do is wish him luck from here.”
If Cotto’s uncle and former trainer put down a few dollars on his nephew to win by knock-out, he could win a nice sum as Miguel is a 3 to 1 underdog to win by stoppage.
