IF MANNY Pacquiao has yet to be amply warned on the power and skills of the man he is set to fight on May 8, all he needs to do is talk to compatriot Baby Lorona Jr.
Exactly three years to that April Fools? Day fight in Reno, Nevada when he climbed the ring opposite a technically-superior and heavy-handed Mexican named Juan Manuel Marquez, all Lorona could remember is the feeling of how it was like to be hit by a sledgehammer.
“Basta?t ang alam ko lang ay malakas talaga,” said Lorona yesterday of the man who Pacquiao will fight on May 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with the Mexican?s International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Association title belts on the line.
“Siya ang pinakamalakas na sa lahat ng mga nakalaban ko dahil talagang bagsak ako. Hindi naman ako basta-basta na lang napapabagsak kahit ngayon.”
Lorona didn?t know Marquez from Adam prior to their 2001 fight. All he was told was that the guy was an up-and-coming Latino who was trying to bring his confidence back after losing a disputed verdict in a world title fight.
