Unheralded Michel Rosales captured a split decision victory over Mark Melligen moments ago at the House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in a barn burner of a fight. Melligen started the fight out boxing well but Rosales was one tough customer. In the middle rounds of the fight both men stood toe-to-toe and traded big shots. It was Melligen’s slick in fighting against Rosales’ pressure fighting. Melligen was hit low and bothered several times but Rosales did not lose a point. In Rounds 9 and 10 Rosales came on strong and a fatigued Melligen was holding on. When the official scores were read Rosales was ahead 96-94 on two cards while Melligen was ahead 98-92 on the third card. FightFan.com had the bout scored 96-94 for Melligen.
