IBF/WBA featherweight champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez of Mexico has long been ballyhooed as boxing’s best-kept secret.
The strange thing that shrouded Marquez’s greatness has caused some of the marquee fighters in the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera, Naseem Hamed, and Erik Morales to avoid him. For that, Marquez earned a distinctive monicker as the sport’s “Avoided One.”
But there is always an exception for everything of which one is the audacity shown by the gutsy Filipino ring hero Manny “The Destroyer” Pacquiao, who openly dared to slug it out with Marquez and is in fact highly confident on diffusing the Mexican dynamite.
Without doubt, Pacquiao carries with him a badge of courage as he journey through a harrowing mission to unmask the mystery there is in Marquez when the two explosive fighters trade bombs in an HBO-televised superbout on May 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
