Reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez said Wednesday that only in death will he relinquish his belts to Filipino Manny Pacquiao, who despite the May 8 fight date is already making plans to trade punches with Erik Morales on July 31.

But it was Pacquiao’s surprising announcement about Morales, instead of Marquez for a death certificate, that floored the media men who let out loud whisperings throughout the room as many were not aware of Pacquiao’s proposed fight.
