AFTER weeks of aggressive bidding by three major hotels in Las Vegas, the world-famous MGM Grand Hotel and Casino has been chosen as the venue for the mammoth featherweight showdown between Ring Magazine champ Manny Pacquiao and WBA-IBF king Juan Manuel Marquez on May 8.
The MGM’s Grand Garden Arena, home of mega-concerts, championship boxing and premier special events will host the fight, and also the June 5 twinbill featuring Oscar De la Hoya and Bernard Hopkins facing separate opponents in Felix Sturm and Robert Allen.
The Pacquiao-Marquez bout will be telecast live by HBO.
