MANILA – World featherweight king Manny Pacquiao will formally get to strap the official belt of the “Bible of Boxing” on his waist when he receives the Ring belt today in the presence of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the Malaca?ang Palace.
Pacquiao will get his Ring belt from no less than the magazine’s editor and boxing historian Nigel Collins, who flew in from the United States to personally award the belt to the Filipino ring idol.
Before he proceeds to the Malaca?ang Palace, the top-10 pound-for-pound boxer Pacquiao will pay a courtesy call at 8 AM on Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, who has considered him an adopted son of the city. After that, Pacquiao is expected to be at the Palace at 9 AM for the appointment with the country’s chief executive.
