When somebody with Nigel Collins?s stature speaks, people better start listening.
Answering a question on how Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao stacks up against Juan Manuel Marquez, the General Santos native?s next possible opponent, the editor-in-chief of the most revered publication in the sport of boxing kept his answer simple: ?[Marquez] is no joke.?
In a news conference on Monday at the Pantalan restaurant in Manila, Collins, who had nothing but praises for the 24-year-old Filipino boxer, said Pacquiao needs to get into ?the same shape as he [was] against Marco Antonio Barrera to be able to beat someone of Marquez?s caliber, because Marquez is the most dangerous possible foe Manny could face.?
Freddie Roach, Pacquiao?s trainer who was adjudged Ring Magazine?s best in 2003, had also expressed the same sentiment early this year, saying that ?Pacquiao needed to prepare very well if he hoped to defeat Marquez.?
