MANNY Pacquiao returned on Friday morning flashing a million-dollar smile, but WBA/IBF featherweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez, the Mexican Pacquiao is fancied to meet in May, stressed there will not be a title fight if he does not get the purse he wants.
Marquez, speaking through manager-trainer Nacho Beristain, said that if the offer sheet was not revised into a more acceptable one, he might as well find another fight.
Marquez is reportedly being offered 350,000 dollars to battle Pacquiao in an HBO-televised fight on May 22, while Pacquiao will get no less than one million dollars.
“Up to now we have not accepted anything. We want other conditions,” Marquez said.
“I will not let them push my fighter around,” said Beristain in an interview Friday. “When you notice that someone has lied to you, one doesn’t stay easily satisfied.”
