Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.- I must say that I myself would much rather have Money May versus Sugar Shane. To me, Shane Mosley just matches up better against the Pretty Boy. I will however say this, and that is that if Manny Pacquiao knocks out Miguel Cotto or even if Pacquiao dazzles Cotto to a unanimous nod, then at that point no bigger fight would then be able to be made than Pacquiao/Mayweather. Especially if Pacquiao handles Cotto with ease, at that point, Pacquiao/Mayweather would become Godzilla.
First though, Pacquiao must get by Cotto for that fight to even be talked about. I for one feel that Cotto is going to be too much for Pacquiao. Which is why I then would have no problem if Pacquiao got the call to face Floyd next if Pacquiao were to beat Cotto that is. I will go on record right now and say that if Pacquiao beats Cotto, then this will be the last and final time that I ever, ever, ever, ever, eva pick against the Pac-Man.
Juan Diaz vs. Paulie Malignaggi the Rematch- I believe that this fight must be re-visited once again. Allow me to retort, Let’s begin with the guy that has the power in making this happen, Juan Diaz. Ok, if I’m Diaz then the fights I would want would be against Juan Manuel Marquez because he stopped me, Nate Campbell because he was the first to give me the taste of defeat, Ricky Hatton because the fight would be huge in England, Edwin Valero because he is a name that echo’s and besides he is licensed to fight in my state, and Paulie Malignaggi because he just will not shut his mouth about being robbed.[Sorry Paulie but I am thinking like Juan here] So Diaz has 5 options, now let’s do some math here called reality math.
In Marquez, I don’t think the chances are likely that he will give Juan the rematch, for one because it looks like Golden Boy Promotions is looking to push for Marquez to face Katsidis or Hatton. So let’s subtract Marquez. Next is Campbell, Campbell would take the fight in a heart beat, so Campbell remains in the mix. Ricky Hatton, yes the fight would be big, but if Hatton returns chances are it would be against Katsidis or Marquez. Besides I have never heard Hatton ever say that Juan Diaz would be a great fight to make where with Katsidis and Marquez, Hatton has mentioned them as future opponents. So Hatton takes an exit. Edwin Valero, Yes we know about the knockouts and yes the fight would be huge in Texas, but in Valero it would be wise for Juan to give Arum a little more time to promote the Knockout King a lil more like only Arum knows how to do. Then at that time I would really make it worth my while and fight him in Texas. But not now, so let’s subtract Valero.
Paulie Malignaggi, no matter who you ask, you will get one or 2 answers when mentioning Paulie. #1 Paulie was robbed, and #2 the fight was close and could have gone either way. So why not fight Paulie again in another entertaining fight but this time dominate his ass and throw #1 and #2 out the window and into my rear view mirror? So that leaves Juan with Nate Campbell and Paulie Malignaggi. No doubt that both fights were hard fights and exciting fights, but I would go with what’s fresher in the audiences minds, and that would be Paulie Malignaggi.
