Friday the 13th was a good day for Manny Pacquiao.
The former International Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion received his latest award?the Gawad Pancho Villa Barako plum?as 2003?s best athlete before the weekend from the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines at its Awards Night at the Bulwagan room of the Pantalan Maynila.
?Thank you for your undying support and prayers for me. I?m happy to receive this special award that I dedicate to my fellow Filipinos, so I hope all of your are still there to support me,? said Pacquiao in accepting another accolade following his spectacular dismantling of Mexican champion Marco Antonio Barrera last November.
The power-punching southpaw also revealed that he, along with business manager Rod Nazario, were flying to New York next week to iron out details with US cable TV giant HBO on his next possible fight.
