THE MANNY Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez showdown appears to be a done deal but World Boxing Council bantamweight champ Oscar “Chololo” Larios has not given up the hope of fighting the Filipino ring hero within the year.
The Mexican Larios, recently voted co-Fighter of the Year by the WBC along with Roy Jones Jr., said he would go after Pacquiao once he’s done with his upcoming Japan stint.
“After I take care of the Japanese, I’m going after Pacquiao next,” Larios said.
Larios also stressed he wanted to avenge the shameful defeat suffered by compatriot Marco Antonio Barrera at the hands of the Filipino hero in the 11th round of a 12-round non-title bout at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Nov. 16 last year.
