CONTROVERSIAL American promoter Murad Muhammad clarified yesterday that nothing is definite yet with regards to the next fight of the universally recognized world featherweight champion Manny ?The Destroyer? Pacquiao.
This in response to several internet reports claiming that Muhammad of the New Jersey-based M and M Sports had secured an HBO date for Pacquiao to fight IBF and WBA featherweight title-holder Juan Manuel ?Dinamita? Marquez of Mexico sometime in May.
Muhammad said that it is Team Pacquiao and not the HBO which has the final decision on who will be the next opponent of Pacquiao. ?HBO does not pick opponents for Manny Pacquiao or any other fighter,? Muhammad told Boxingscene.com.
?I?m waiting for Manny?s manager, Rod Nazario, to come to the US so that we can make a final decision. Until then, nothing is set as far as to whom Manny Pacquiao?s fighting, when he?s fighting or where,? Muhammad added
