Freddie Roach and his lawyer friends are visibly upset over the refusal of Manny Pacquiao to junk Murad Muhammad and sign up with them amidst attempts to try and drive a wedge between the trainer and the Filipino champion.
Lawyer Nicholas Khan has stated that Roach won?t train the flamboyant Filipino any longer, although Roach himself said in an overseas telephone conversation Tuesday that he and Pacquiao were fine and he only needed to ?negotiate a fair deal? for him to continue training Pacquiao.
In an interview with Greg Leon of Boxing Talk yesterday, Roach was quoted as saying he and Pacquiao were ?not together? and that it was ?still way premature? although in the same interview, he said ?we could negotiate a fair deal.?
Indications are Pacquiao?s refusal to sign an Exclusive Promotional Agreement with Ten Count Productions lawyer Keith Davidson, Nick Khan Management, and Roach?s Wild Card Boxing, while having a ?live? contract with Murad as promoter, Rod Nazario as business manager and Marty Elorde as manager, had upset the lawyers.
