THE dream rematch between Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera is slowly shaping up after reports floated that the former Mexican featherweight king will return into the ring soon.
Boxingtalk.com reported that HBO Sports has signified that there is a strong possibility that Barrera, still smarting from a humiliating defeat inflicted by the Filipino braveheart on November 16 last year, will plunge back into ring action on March 13. Barrera?s comeback fight will serve as the co-feature to the undisputed jr middleweight championship showdown between ?Sugar? Shane Mosley and Ronald ?Winky? Wright.
Several opponents are being eyed for the ?Baby-Faced Assassin? from Mexico, but nothing is definite yet as of the moment. A few weeks after he was brutally punished by Pacquiao enroute to an 11th round submission, Barrera, who will turn 30 years old on January 17, expressed his desire to redeem lost glory and recover his place at the top.
