PERHAPS fed up by the scathing remarks that tend to besmirch his reputation, American promoter Murad Muhammad finally came out in the open to deny accusations that he cheated and stole money from the purse of Manny Pacquiao when the Filipino world boxing champion fought against Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera late last year.
Just a few days ago, American trainer Freddie Roach branded Muhammad a ?thief? for pocketing a huge chunk of Pacquiao?s money, thus, fanning further the rumor mill to the extent of creating confusion in and out of Pacquiao?s camp.
But in an exclusive interview with Gregory Leon of Boxingtalk.net, the embattled Muhammad of the New Jersey-based M & M Sports described the allegations as ?unbelievable and amazing.?
?It?s evident that I have been sabotaged. And it?s amazing to me that one can take innuendos and accusations and run with it to ruin my good name. This is just amazing. I can?t believe this went on. After 14 years of investigations by the federal government, I come out clean. To the point that the same private investigator now works with M & M Sports,? Muhammad said.
