WITH a newly formed boxers? union recently declaring its readiness to investigate and do something to help Manny Pacquiao get a fair share in his purse dealings, the Philippine Senate and the House of Representatives may not be far behind in conducting their own probe.
This is the belief of Pacquiao?s registered manager Marty Elorde who is currently vacationing in Los Angeles for the holidays.
In an overseas interview with The Bulletin, Elorde said he expects either of the two houses of Congress to conduct an investigation not just to protect Pacquiao from being robbed of his earnings but to also try to enact a law that will eventually shield every Filipino boxers from unscrupulous boxing managers and promoters.
Without naming names, American trainer Freddie Roach accused people around the 25-year old Pacquiao of taking a huge chunk of the southpaw champion?s recent winnings, prompting the well-known boxing guru to resign from Team Pacquiao.
