Manny Pacquiao has outright rejected the draft of what appeared to be a one-sided and onerous contract sent to him by fax by the lawyers of ace trainer Freddie Roach for an exclusive promotional agreement with Ten Count Productions Inc., a Nevada corporation based in Beverly Hills, California.
The contract listed Nick Khan Management and Roach himself as managers.
According to Rod Nazario, one of Roach?s lawyers, Keith Davidson, visited Pacquiao in Manila three weeks ago but that Pacquiao had referred him to Nazario.
The business manager disclosed that the draft contract contained none of the conditions they had agreed upon, including a guarantee that Pacquiao and Nazario would be free from any legal suits filed by promoter Murad Muhammad for breach-of-contract. Also not in the contract is the condition that they would be protected against any injunctions that would prevent Pacquiao from fighting in the US and that TCP Inc. would bear all legal costs.
