International Boxing Federation junior featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao said yesterday he won?t underestimate World Boxing Association/IBF champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who is being lined up for a title shot sometime in late March or early April in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao annihilated legendary featherweight king Marco Antonio Barrera last Nov. 15 in San Antonio, Texas.
In an interview with Viva Sports, Pacquiao said Marquez: ?Is tough, is a good counter-puncher and he?s got power,? but at the same time indicated this doesn?t faze him.
The flamboyant ring warrior, who turned 25 last Dec. 17, said he will train hard just like he did in preparation for the Barrera fight and won?t take chances.
Pacquiao said he watched Marquez defeat highly touted Derrick Gainer but pointed out that Gainer ?hardly threw any punches and was always holding. I?m different. I?ll throw a lot of punches and they will be power shots.?
