International Boxing Federation junior featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao, whose 11th-round annihilation of the legendary featherweight Marco Antonio Barrera stunned the boxing world last Nov. 15, appears to be a runaway winner of HBO?s ?Fighter of the Year? award and the overwhelming choice for ?Upset of the Year.?
The voting for the HBO Boxing Annual Awards on its Web site showed Pacquiao with a resounding 62 percent of the votes cast for ?Fighter of the Year? with heavyweight champion and top pound-for-pound fighter in the world Roy Jones Jr. garnering a mere 17 percent while welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga of Nicaragua had 8 percent with Artuto Gatti next at 7 percent, James ?Lights Out? Toney who overcame aging Evander Holyfield with 5 percent and Sugar Shane Mosley who scored a controversial decision over ?The Golden Boy? Oscar de la Hoya with only 1 percent.
