Manny Pacquiao yesterday agreed to be the mandatory challenger to the winner of the Injin Chi and Michael Brodie rematch for the vacant World Boxing Council featherweight crown, paving the way for the Filipino boxing champion?s crack at the crown of boxing?s most prestigious organization.
Rod Nazario, Pacquiao?s business manager, said they have accepted the WBC offer asking Pacquiao to be challenger of the winner of the Chi-Brodie rematch coursed through them by no less than WBC president Jose Sulaiman.
Actually, Sulaiman acted on the request of former WBC secretary-general Rudy Salud, who had asked the WBC chief if he could get Pacquiao involved in one of WBC?s coming blockbuster fights.
