World Boxing Council president Jose Sulaiman has committed to having the winner of the rematch between South Korea?s Injin Chi and Britain?s Michael Brodie stage a mandatory title defense against International Boxing Federation junior featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao in response to a request from his long-time friend and WBC founding secretary general, lawyer Rudy Salud.
A purse bid was scheduled to be held in Mexico yesterday for the staging of the rematch following the controversial draw between Chi and Brodie where Sulaiman discovered an error in the scorecards which resulted in the announced victory of Chi being reversed and a majority draw declared.
