Vic ”the Raging Bull” Darchinyan will attempt to snag another title when he goes after his title in what will be his 3rd weight class. To get this accomplished however, Vic must take it from Joseph ”King Kong” Agbeko, if you have yet to see Agbeko fight, let me tell you that this is no easy task. Agbeko is another tough fighter from the tough land of Ghana. Agbeko is a power punching menace that is very hard to discourage coming in, if anyone can discourage Agbeko, Vic may be that man. In Darchinyan’s last 2 fights, many thought that Mijares and Arce would be able to stop the Bull, thing is that if you ask me, I believe that Mijares and Arce were beaten men before they ever entered that ring against Darchinyan.
Darchinyan can sometimes mentally drain his opponents with the venom that he spits. There are 2 different types of trash talkers, one type is like a more scientific approach, like the style Bernard Hopkins uses. When facing Hopkins, Hopkins will tell you how he will defeat you and why it will work. Hopkins then repeats it and repeats it at every conference leading up to the fight that at that time his opponent is mentally drained by the talk, the opponent then begins to question it over and over and tries to justify it in their own mind. ”There is no way that he can beat me that way, no freaken way, what is he even talking about.” Then after the fight they find themselves beaten the exact same way that Hopkins said he would beat them, many times a smooth trash talker like Hopkins defeats you with your very own help.
The second type of trash talker is the rude, crude, abusive type. That my friends is Vic Darchinyan, Vic will tell you how he is going to crush you and take your manhood away from you, how your punches will do nothing because you hit like a little girl. Vic is like a Ricardo Mayorga type of trash talker, the difference being that unlike Ricardo Mayorga, Darchinyan delivers. So how will this fight play out between these two power sluggers? I can not wait for this clash myself, tune in to Showtime on July 11, 2009, only one man’s power will be greater, do not miss this one. Epect dynamite in the ring.
Vic Darchinyan vs. Joseph Agbeko Prediction:
In this slugfest, I can see Vic’s power overwhelming Agbeko much like it did Arce and Mijares. As I mentioned before however, I strongly feel that Arce and Mijares were beaten men before they even threw on their trunks. No doubt about it that Darchinyan just may be one of the top power punchers in the sport pound for pound, However, I feel that in this war Agbeko will be physically and mentally strong enough to crack Vic’s weird crab like punching style that has Vic throwing bombs from his waist line and suddenly POW!! I feel that early on the fight will belong to The Raging Bull, but around the 7th round the tide will turn. Once Agbeko’s strength and heart begins to shine through, it will be then that Darchinyan will mentally become drained and his work will then become sloppy. I am picking King Kong to upset The Raging Bull in a classic. King Kong by SD.
By the way, if Darchinyan is to beat Agbeko in dramatic fashion, my advice would be to go after Edwin Vallero first then maybe just maybe then can you bring up the Pac-Monster.
