The expose of the Boston Herald a few days ago that HBO shelled out $700,000 for Manny Pacquiao in his fight with Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera on November 15 in San Antonio, Texas, may have rekindled Pacquiao?s desire to get rid of US promoter Murad Muhammad.
According to the Boston Herald report, HBO had earmarked $700,000 for Pacquiao?s challenge against Barrera, but the HBO annotating team led by Larry Merchant expressed surprise ? perhaps intentionally ? on why only half of the amount went to the pocket of the Filipino puncher.
