Everybody now wants a piece of Manny Pacquiao following his annihilation of the legendary featherweight king Marco Antonio Barrera last Nov. 26.
Aside from fighters looking to make a name for themselves while earning good money, TV networks and a variety of agents and other promoters are burning the lines in an effort to get in touch with Pacquiao or his business manager Rod Nazario.
HBO Boxing is in the forefront of the effort to sign up Pacquiao to a multimillion-dollar six-fight contract and have tried to sideline American promoter Murad Muhammad, whose dealings have often been suspect.
After the Boston Herald ran a story insinuating that HBO paid Murad $700,000 as Pacquiao?s purse and that Murad had pocketed some 50 percent of the amount, which Nazario vehemently denied, several questions are being asked about the dealings with the American promoter.
