BOXING champion Manny Pacquiao was given a hero’s welcome on Monday as he was feted with a motorcade that took him to the cities of Manila and Makati.
Confetti rained on Ayala Avenue as the motorcade made its way through the heart of Makati’s financial district.
Office workers jostled with sidewalk vendors to catch a glimpse of Pacquiao, who waved to them from atop a red Chevrolet pick-up truck.
Clad in a white buttoned-down shirt, the champion flashed his orange and gold championship belt as the song “Eye of the Tiger,” the theme from one of the “Rocky” movies, played from another truck.
Pacquiao was flanked by Manila Mayor Jose L. Atienza Jr., who was wearing a red floral-printed shirt.
