Marco Antonio Barerra’s defeat by Manny Pacquiao was a real turn up for the books.
But it just goes to show that every fighter has a shelf-life and perhaps Barrera had hung around too long.
There were no signs of any decay before and it could have been an anomoly of things that went wrong: he may have under-estimated Pacquiao, he may not have prepared properly, maybe he got complacent and believed his own publicity or maybe he has just gone off the boil.
I would have picked him for the fight, that’s one of the great things about this game and it was surprising that Pacquiao, according to reports, dominated the fight and won so convincingly.
