When God handed out brains, it?s not like former world junior middleweight champion and now talented trainer John David Jackson thought they said ?trains? and did not get in line.
Jackson is no Everlast Einstein, perhaps, but he is no dummy, either. As a fighter, he was a slickster and trickster, and I guess that makes him a perfect fit for his top client, Nate ?Soupy? Campbell.
Campbell continues to steer clear of the other weight-challenged lightweight named Joan Guzman, and you can?t blame the Soupster because Guzman did not make the 135-pound that September night in Biloxi.
They should have called that show ?Bollixed In Biloxi? as it was wreckage from start to finish and none of that was promoter Don King?s fault.
Look, I do not criticize much less condemn for JDJ for putting out his public blast on Manny Pacquiao, his less than thoughtful remarks about how Megamanny avoids fighting black guys and turning them into black, blue and maybe reddish guys.
Jackson wanted to make a splash, and he was lobbying for a Pacquiao Payday, a Jumbo Jackpot which can only be realized when a less revered fighter (meaning all of them) gets lucky enough to sign up for a Pacman beat down.
You Pacfans may have been mad and may still be enraged at John David but what does this southpaw ex-champ care? His pockets are madder at him and Soupy than you will ever be.
Like the rest of us, Jackson has bills to pay. He has a landlord who looks for him once a month. He has light bills, cable bills, grocery bills and all the rest. By accusing Pacman of dubious racism, Jackson did temporarily plant the little-noticed Campbell flag all over the Internet and stir up all the nerdy nerds in the various chartrooms.
As I pointed out, perhaps Jackson was living in a cave in the mountains of Pakistan when Manny made his smashing HBO debut in which he obliterated a coal black fellow from South Africa named Lehlonolo Ledwaba.
We even have visual proof that at least this one black-skinned gentleman was smashed to smithereens although I have no idea and never have what smithereens are.
Now, in the wake of Richard John Hatton?s drubbing, I think it?s safe to say no one in boxing will make a pimpish move and accuse Manny of ducking Caucasians.
Comedian Steve Martin claims to have been born as a poor, black child. I don?t know the veracity of that. In my own, case I have borne the burden of being white from birth and I see myself carrying it from cradle to grave.
I prefer cremation, anyway, but I doubt I could ever get buried as deep as Pacman buried the so white he looks like chalk on a?pardon the expression?blackboard Hatton.
There was some rapper, maybe it was Vanilla Ice before he melted, who claimed to be ?pretty fly for a white guy.?
After those three brutal knockdowns Saturday night, it may be said of Hatton that he ?flies pretty high for a white guy.?
At the end of the day, let’s hope these baseless accusations of pugilistic prejudice are yesterday?s news now.
Pacman is an equal opportunity gloved abuser.
When you come into his house, meaning a ring with ropes around it, expect an onslaught of domestic violence the likes of which you have never seen?unless you watched how Hatton was cruelly mistreated.
Let an albino get out of line and I am sure that Manny would give him the same treatment.
Which reminds me, if Ann Wolfe is so tough, why doesn?t she challenge Pacman? We could call this mixed up match Pacman Vs. Wolfewoman.
Boxing beauty Laila Ali, daughter of The Greatest, may have ducked Wolfe but I hear Ali had good reason.
Wolfe proposed that they fight on a day in which Laila had a regularly scheduled manicure, pedicure and ooh la la a bikini wax.
Why would Ali want to get waxed twice in the same day?
I may be reaching to prove that Manny fights all comers, but I hear that the vampires from Twilight are plotting against him right now.
I will have to investigate them right now. Boxing would not really notice the addition of a few vampires more or less.
It is filled with bloodsuckers already.
Come to think of it, Megamanny has never fought a bloodsucking leech of a vampire?and let?s leave Murad Muhammad out of it.
Manny Pacquiao fears no man or woman but hard punching, “out” lesbians and creepy vampires are another story. Although after his performance over the weekend, I like his odds.
My first wife was a mixture of lesbian and vampire, but I am not bitter except for the teeth marks on my neck. No wonder she was never around in daylight, I always wondered about that and why she said “Blacula” was her all time favorite movie.
When it comes to vampires, I do admit I prefer the lipstick variety.
I would prefer not to fight anyone in either category?not that there is anything wrong with either category, mind you?either.
All men, even Megamannies, must know their limitations.
Being old, poor and hoping my real chair is not a wheelchair, I can find another wife. Maybe there is a nubile, young beauty along Boracay Beach or on the Cenu waterfront looking for such a prize as me, I don’t know.
Hey, there are no Twilight vampires in Pacland, right?
