MANNY Pacquiao has suddenly found himself besieged with several offers to fight blue-chip fighters, a situation the Filipino ring idol could have dreamed of only a month ago.
Pacquiao’s status as new world boxing sensation got another boost Monday when he was installed No. 9 among the world’s best pound-for-pound fighters by the No. 1 boxing website Maxboxing.com. for halting Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera in the 11th round of their 12-round, non-title bout last Sunday.
Another Mexican boxing hero, Erik Morales, Tuesday openly sought a fight with Pacquiao, saying it would “be good and of interest to the public.”
