The media centre at the MGM Grand is a revolving door for the good and great of the boxing world – Oscar de la Hoya, Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley, Bob Arum, Freddie Roach, the Mayweather family…and others do the rounds with several radio stations set up there.
Yesterday sports began to cross pollenate, as England rugby union players James Haskell and Joe Worsley were ushered into the media room for radio interviews.
Heavyweights the pair certainly are – in boxing terms.
Worsley has already been selected for the Lions tour to South Africa; Haskell hopes to be announced as a member of England’s tour to Argentina.
