THE joint boxing promotion of international boxing promoter Sammy Gello-ani?s SGG Promotions and Vice Gov. Manny Pi?ol on April 4 at the Cebu Coliseum has been cancelled.
The Kokiet Group, which handles the three Thai fighters who are scheduled to fight in Cebu City, can?t come to the Philippines in time for the boxing event that will pit Rolando Magbanua against former world champion Ratanachai Sor Vorapin.
The Kokiet Group still has to accompany another fighter, Pramansak Phosawan, to Puerto Rico on March 28 for a World Boxing Organization super flyweight title fight against hometown fighter Jose Lopez.
The Kokiet Group requested the fight to be moved to April 28, but Gello-ani declined their appeal.
According to Gello-ani, the fight will most likely be moved to April 18, when he will pit Magbanua with another fighter.
?I will set up another opponent for Magbanua. I will talk with Vice-Governor Pi?ol and finalize this tomorrow,? Gello-ani said in an interview with Sun.Star Cebu.
