Pacquiao remains focused

Manny Pacquiao is not bothered by the ongoing rift involving him, ABS-CBN and television blocktimer Solar Sports.

From Los Angeles, Pacquiao, after another gruelling workout under Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club, told ABS-CBN yesterday that he remains focused on his May 2 Las Vegas bout with Ricky Hatton of England.

“Hindi naman. Naka-focus ako sa training ko at maluwag naman ang loob ko at siyempre meron akong mga tao na nag-aasikaso dyan,” Pacquiao said when asked whether he is affected by the looming legal tussle between ABS-CBN and Solar Sports.

Solar Sports is threatening to bring ABS-CBN and Pacquiao to court for a gross violation of its contract with the 30-year-old Pacquiao, acknowledged today as the best fighter in the world pound-for-pound.

Solar Sports, which has a live contract with Pacquiao until May 2011, said the company doesn?t have any financial obligation to the famed boxer.

“Walang utang ang Solar Sports kay Manny Pacquiao at kahit si Manny Pacquiao ay walang sinabi,” said Solar Sports legal counsel Enrique De La Cruz.

Solar Sports is scheduled to hold a press conference this noon at Eastwood City in Quezon City.
