Today was my first official invitation to Marco Barrera’s training camp held at Tony Ayala Sr’s Zarzamora gym located in the west side of San Antonio. Asked to witness a session by a representative in the Barrera camp, Roberto Diaz. I have to tell you, for not ever stepping into a boxing gym. I was enduring a natural high. First off, knowing the fact that I was actually in a boxing gym owned by one of San Antonio’s best trainers in Tony Ayala Sr. Not to mention that a fighter that was once regarded as the best prospect to ever emerge from the city of San Antonio began his boxing career there as well. Tony Ayala Jr. was as ferocious as Fernando Vargas can only dream of becoming.
