Ricardo Lois and John Chavez, the Heckle & Jeckle talking head combination on the www.boxingconfidential.com radio podcast (ITunes available), have issued a public warning to Manny Pacquiao No Joke Coach Freddie Roach.
On their Sunday night podcast, the terrible two agreed that ?the revered? Roach should steer clear of working with disgraced handwrap cheater Antonio Margarito. It was revealed last week that laboratory tests in California proved that elements of Plaster of Paris were found in the handwraps that the Mexican fighter intended to use in his January loss to Sugar Shane Mosley.
?That would be a huge mistake for Freddie,? Lois, who doubles as the LA Boxing Examiner, said. ?Margocheato needs to be banned from boxing for a while and his miserable trainer, Javier Capetillo, needs to barred for life everywhere or, at least in the United States.?
Chavez, the San Francisco-based fistic iconoclast, readily concurred.
?These are rumors about Freddie and Margarito. I guess Antonio came to him crying about how he didn?t know about the tampering. He came in crying to Freddie and I guess Freddie wants to believe the fighter.?
Lois said that Roach, who has copped the Trainer of the Year award three times from the Boxing Writers Assn. of America, might lose prestige and harm his lofty reputation by messing with Margarito.
