After Pacquiao knocks Hatton out silly, Pacquiao will then go on and knock out Marquez once and for all to put an end to all this Marquez being Pacquiao’s weakness BS talk. My man Stan, I disagree with you, I strongly feel that in their first fight, that after the first 2-3 rounds, that Marquez swept the remainder of the rounds by boxing Pacquiao silly. In the second fight I scored it for Pacquiao with the knockdown being the only difference. I honestly feel that if Pacquiao is to get past Hatton that Pacquiao would much rather risk it all and face Mayweather Jr. or Mosley than to make a Pacquiao/Marquez 3. Besides, if Pacquiao is thinking ”money” like so many of us are right about now, he will be wise to pick Money May, after all you gotta strike while the iron is hot.
Albert, I love the site, I love the interviews, I am a fan of all of your writers at Diamond Boxing but one of you has got to get an interview with Oscar De La Hoya, I have followed his career since Barcelona, I have been to 6 of his fights, he has carried the sport since 92 along with that sweet Gold Medal of his.. I , well we, need to know what is on his mind, if he is gonna continue to fight , or is he gonna hang them up? You need to get that interview for us, we all need to know.. Danny, thank you so much for the kind words, it really means alot to us, thanks for the support. I assure you that we are going to try our hardest to try to get that Golden Goose interview.. I myself am also a Oscar fan, in fact I am such an Oscar fan that a huge part of me can not stomache to see him retire with the beating he took from Pacquiao as being the last image that I remember of a great fighter that took all the risks and who carried the sport and brought Huge Events to our great sport. We know that Oscar was at the Marquez/Diaz fight this past Saturday night, so we know that he is out, We also read the few words he had with ESPN, So we know that he is talking, it’s just that he isn’t talking to us just yet, but I assure you that we are working on it.

Tim, I honestly feel out of it, usually when a fight gets announced I can always picture the fight in my head and pick a winner. For this fight, I am stuck on it, I can see Hatton pressuring Pacquiao and over crowding him and not allowing him to get off, I can also see Pacquaio being way too fast for Hatton and darting in and out rapidly with that tricky southpaw style of his spelling doom for Hatton. I am honestly on the fence on this one, I can not even begin to remember the last time I had this much trouble on picking a winner. I am undecided. This has got to be what Oscar is feeling right about now, should I stay or should I go?
Albert this weekend, Victor Ortiz will fight Mighty Mike, some have said that Mighty Mike will upset Ortiz, I think that Ortiz is way too much for Mike, I think that Ortiz will blast Mike easy in like 3-4 rounds. Who do you have in this fight? John G.
Well John, I am picking Vicious Vic to win the fight, but honestly I would be very surprised if Victor beats him as easy as you think he will. Mighty Mike is no pushover, and should not be taken lightly, I really hope that Ortiz did his homework and remains focused because Mighty Mike is also a southpaw and tends to get cute in there.
Ok so after Marquez beat Diaz, Oscar went on to call Marquez the best Mexican fighter of this era, and the HBO announcers went on to label Marquez as the smartest fighter fighting today, would you agree? Bernie, Portland
Good day to you Bernie, I will say that if you wanted to say that Juan Manuel Marquez is the best Mexican fighter of this era, you could honestly argue that. Before Marquez fought Casamayor, many asked ”How is Marquez going to do against a slick boxer like Casamayor, how will he be able to counter the slick angles of Casamayor?” So what did Marquez do to answer the questions? He only went on to figure Casamayor out and became the first man to soundly beat Casamayor by knocking him out. Same with the build up going into the Diaz fight, many wondered if Diaz’s youth and relentless pressure will be too much for Marquez to handle, and all he did was figure Diaz out by countering off the ropes using his mastery footwork to take the fight to the center where there he found the distance to operate like a surgeon. Early on people took notice when Marquez was knocked down three times by the Pacquiao typhoon storm and went on to box cleverly for the remainder of the eleven rounds and holding the typhoon to a draw. You can also argue that Marquez just may be the best counter puncher since the great Finito Lopez. As far as the smartest fighter out there today, I would have to go with Bernard Hopkins as the smartest with Marquez right behind Hopkins.
