As he embarks on yet the biggest and most lucrative fight of his career against Marco Antonio Barrera on Nov.15, Manny has nested in the City of Angels this past month or so. I?ve been trying to reach him since, and while I did find him, the process was more taxing than joining the Dalai Lama in a meditative marathon.
I know Manny trains at the Wild Card gym, but I hit a wall when I realized that the joint which Freddie Roach Jr. owns isn?t listed in the phone book. Desperate, I rang my buddy Steve Springer of the L.A. Times. Sadly, he was on assignment.
