A high-ranking official with boxer Oscar De La Hoya’s new promotion company confirmed on Tuesday that San Antonio is the leading candidate to host a world title fight this fall involving Mexican featherweight star Marco Antonio Barrera. Richard Schaefer, CEO of Los Angeles-based Golden Boy Promotions, said the pay-per-view bout, pitting Barrera (57-3, 40 KOs) against Manny Pacquiao (37-2-1, 29 KOs) of the Philippines, would take place Nov. 15 at the Alamodome.
