The recession/depression is even getting to the incredibly wealthy Don King.
The Wall Street Journal did a big story on how King is trying to sell his oceanfront manse in Palm Beach including his Statue Of Libery replica. It?s said that King paid $18.5 million for the house and land and he?s now asking $27.5 million for it.
Meanwhile, Boxingconfidential has learned, Don King Productions laid off 15 employees, mostly clerical and back office types, Friday. Also leaving the Deerfield Beach office was matchmaker Malcolm Garrett.
Garrett has relocated back home to Indiana and will make matches for DKP on a per show, as needed basis.
One insider thinks King?s next move will be to downsize the office which is adjacent to the northbound lanes of busy Interstate 95. DKP had moved to the bigger Deerfield Beach office from a smaller property in Oakland Park.
It?s getting rough out there.
