Pacquiao Holds No Fear For Mayweather Jr

It seems that it is a question of when Floyd Mayweather Jr makes a comeback rather than if.

The 31 year-old former pound for pound king has not fought since inflicting a career first defeat to Ricky Hatton in December 2007 but he was so impressed with Manny Pacquiao?s destruction of Oscar De La Hoya earlier this month he has ordred his advisor Leonard Ellerbe to make inquiries about facing either Pacquiao Hatton in a rematch.

Regarding Pacquiao, the man that replaced him as pound for pound king Mayweather said, via Leonard Ellerbe: “He?s (Pacquiao) an excellent fighter. It was a tremendous win(over De la Hoya), but I?ll beat his (expletive).”

Talking to ESPN?s Dan Rafael,Ellerbe said: “Floyd has given Team Mayweather the green light to go out there and evaluate the biggest fights for him, to come back to him and present it to him. Then he will consider it.

“If what we present him is something he?s interested in doing, he will do it,” Ellerbe said, pretty much conceding that a Mayweather return is pretty much guaranteed. “I think what I just said speaks for itself,”added Ellerbe.

As reported Saturday Pacquiao and Hatton is scheduled to fight on May 2 possibly at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, though there has not been an official announcment as yet.
