Top Rank promoter Todd DuBoef says next year’s proposed super-fight between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao would be a “landmark”.
Manchester hero Hatton immediately set his sights on Filipino superstar Pacquiao after his 11th-round stoppage of Paulie Malignaggi in New York City last month.
He said: “Pacquiao is now one of the biggest names in the world and I am the biggest ticket-seller in the world. Maybe I am appreciating my worth after all this time.”
Pacquiao, 29, is free to fight Hatton after his annihilation of legendary six-weight champion Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas last weekend after seven savage rounds. DuBoef said: “It’s such a big fight and it would be such a landmark for the sport, a guy from a third-world island in Asia fighting a hero from the UK.” In Betfair you can either make a back bet (bet on who’s going to win) or place a lay bet (bet against something happening).
