ISULAN, SULTAN KUDARAT – An avid fan of People?s Champ Manny Pacquiao died of heart attack here at the height of the ?Dream Match?, Sunday noon (local time).
Leopoldo Flores said that as the ?Dream Match? commenced his neighbor, Ronie Rivas, was one of those cheering for Pacquiao.
As the bout entered into the third round he noticed however Rivas became silent. Later did they know that Rivas was already suffering from a stroke.
They rushed him to a nearest hospital. His blood pressure was recorded at 240/120. First aid was applied while he was taken to a nearby provincial hospital, but Rivas was pronounced dead upon arrival.
His wife Rosalie could barely accept the fate of her forty-five year old husband who worked as part-time chainsaw operator.
Their two sons working in Metro Manila were already advised but Rosalie said she doubts if they can attend the burial of their father because of financial constraints.
She said she hopes Manny Pacquiao can help them.
