The ?Dream Fight? is nearly here and I am rather surprised to see many writers giving Manny Pacquiao a very good chance to pull the upset over Oscar De La Hoya. Although Manny has beaten a string of good to great opposition, he will be facing his toughest challenge of his entire career and then some. De La Hoya isn?t just big and he is not shot either. He is a strong and quick big man with a very powerful punch. He flattened the durable Ricardo Mayorga with ease with his famous left hook.
I am disappointed in HBO for their current string of pay per views and the $59.95 price tag for this one is steep for sure. The other two recent HBO Pay Per Screws were failures: Bernard Hopkins ? Kelly Pavlik and Joe Calzaghe ? Roy Jones, JR. The PPV buys were not anywhere where they hoped, but they proceed to place this fight on PPV at this inflated price. It wouldn?t be so bad if the undercard wasn?t full of showcase fights for prospects. Don King has been trashed over his career, but he put on damn good undercards for the most part.
