The World Boxing Council has ordered that its Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko must make a first defence of his title against the Germany-based Cuban Juan Carlos Gomez.
Klitschko, 37, regained the title last month when he returned after a four-year absence to beat the Nigerian Samuel Peters, and he had been hoping he would be allowed a voluntary defence.
