Freddie Roach says he has been impressed by Amir Khan in sparring with pound-for-pound legend Manny Pacquiao in recent weeks.
Khan joined Roach’s gym following his knockout loss to Breidis Prescott and the Bolton lightweight has been looking sharp as he builds up to his return to the ring against Oisin Fagan in London on December 6.
Roach is also guiding Pacquiao through training for his ‘super-fight’ with Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas on the same night, and has paired up the duo between the ropes – with interesting results.
“Amir has a great left hand; very fast,” Roach said. “He and Manny are really going at it. I wanted Amir to get his confidence back and I’m training him now too, so it’s worked out well from both sides there.”
Roach has been using bigger men
