Fight after fight, Manny Pacquiao never fails to amaze Bob Arum.
The legendary Top Rank president took a peek at his prized ward while the latter was training at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood Monday, and again, liked what he saw.
?I?ve never seen anybody work out so hard,? said Arum from Los Angeles yesterday morning (Monday evening in LA).
Arum said he watched Pacquiao train for three-and-a-half hours as he entered the last few weeks of his preparation for the Oscar dela Hoya fight set on Dec. 6 in Las Vegas.
?He worked out straight for three-and-a-half hours. Three-and-a-half hours!? said Arum, almost shouting as if he couldn?t believe what he just saw in the gym owned by Freddie Roach.
?And he was never tiring. I mean, I?ve never seen anything like it,? he said.
Arum, who firmly believes that Pacquiao is the best and most exciting boxer in the world today, said even Roach is amazed by Pacquiao?s boundless energy when it comes to training.
?Freddie said he?s the most amazing thing. This guy (Pacquiao) is in such unbelievable shape,? added Arum, confident that his prized ward has what it takes to bring down Dela Hoya.
In a separate call, reigning IBO and IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr., who will defend his titles against South African Moruti Mthalane on Sunday, said he likes Pacquiao?s chances.
?Dela Hoya is big but I know that Pacquiao?s training and speed will overcome that. As long as he doesn?t get hit and he moves he can make it happen,? said Donaire.
?Manny believes in himself so there?s nothing I can do but believe in him. Everybody should believe in him as well,? said Donaire, adding that whatever happens on Sunday he?d be at ringside on Dec. 6.
?I will be there. My family will be there to cheer him on,? he said.
