Manny Pacquiao has denied he only took a fight with Oscar De La Hoya for financial reasons.
Instead the 29-year-old Filipino says he wants to beat the ‘Golden Boy’ to bring more glory to his home country.
The pair lock horns at welterweight in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday December 6.
And the fight is once again likely to bring Pacquiao’s country to a standstill.
“Some people are saying I only took this fight for money. On December 6th, I will prove you wrong,” he said.
“It will be a great boxing match, you have seen my previous match and you know how Manny Pacquiao fights.
“Fighting Oscar de la Hoya is a great honour and a privilege and I can assure you that I am fighting to give glory and honour to my country.”
Tickets for the big fight sold out in just hours, producing the second biggest live gate in boxing history.
