If you look up chutzpah in the Boxing Encyclopedia, you will see Bob Arum?s picture.
Chutzpah means the nerve, the unmitigated gall, and the complete of lack of shame shown by someone.
If you look up Matt Vanda?s complete pro ring record on Boxrec, it resembles a Christmas tree, with all that red marking his seven defeats and the green marking his meaningless victories.
Last time Vanda fought Arum?s pet project, JC Chavez Jr., they robbed the gringo in Mexico. They didn’t even show him any stinking badges.
Only Arum would have the chutzpah to take this bout, reheat it and serve it up again on pay per view TV. If it was JC Sanchez or JC Lopez, this would be a walkout bout in Tucson.
First of all, Chavez?s unbeaten record is nothing more than a testament to Gravedigger (Sean) Gibbons ability to comb the bus terminals and coffee shops of the Midwestern states to find white guys who can barely fight.
Gibbons is no sham. He takes an order, grabs his shovel and digs them up.
But JC The Younger?s whole career is a sham.
He is, at best, mediocre. He?s been propped up more times than a shaky government in a banana republic.
Early on, we all bought the readymade excuse.
?The kid is green, the kid had virtually no amateur fights, and the kid has to learn.?
Now he has had almost 40 so-called pro bouts.
And he is fighting Matt ?Predator? Vanda a second time.
Whoopdeebleeping do, the prefight tension is palpable. Or is that laughable?
Gibbons did his work and he did it well.
What Chavez Jr. is doing now makes a mockery of a mockery.
This fight does not belong on PPV. It belongs in a VFW Hall in Peoria, general admission $20.
Caveat emptor, fight fans, caveat emptor.
My patience is worn. Is Young Chavez still so green?
Or is the public still so gullible?
It reminds me of Ted Kennedy?s first statewide race, when he ran for attorney general in Massachusetts.
His opponent was a McCormack, a relative of the famed Speaker of the House. John W.
They were debating; this McCormick and Edward Moore Kennedy and McCormack said he could beat Teddy.
?If your name was just Edward Moore,? the candidate said, dropping the magical last name.
Naturally, Kennedy magic prevailed at the ballot box.
The Chavez magic? Someone?s got tell JC Jr., ?Kid, you ain?t got it.?
Chavez and Vanda, two club fighters on pay per view. I say it?s Arum, not Vanda who is the ?Predator? here.
What will Arum do next, resurrect Rahaman Ali?
Thank you, Blobfather, for bestowing such a pugilistic gift on the suckers, I mean the fans.
May we kiss your ring now or later, Blobfather?
